Siena’s Students of Color Speak Out

17115929530_653ca13fdd_mYesterday on Siena College’s campus, folks attended the Students of Color Speak Out, where both students and faculty shared their stories of racism on campus, and their concerns about the nationwide problem of police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement. See more photos. Their experiences varies from multiple negative encounters with campus Public Safety, as well as insensitivity and outright racist encounters with fellow students, classmates, and roommates. This may be one of the only times that students of color have spoken out publicly on this primarily White campus, known for its apolitical climate.
